South Sea Island is one of the treasures of the Mamanuca Islands. Crystal clear waters, coral reefs and thousands of colourful tropical fish surround this tiny island.
It may be small in size, but there is plenty to keep you entertained with a semi-submersible submarine for underwater viewing, a salt water swimming pool and the use of all non-motorised water sports equipment such as snorkelling gear, stand up paddle boards and kayaks which are available free of charge.
Overnight guests can choose to stay in our 16 bed unisex dorm, 6 bed Girls only dorm, Lodge Room or in one of the three Beachfront Bures with private outdoor bathrooms.
Discover the underwater world with hours of snorkelling or if you want to stay dry, jump onboard the semi-submersible coral viewer. Make sure you keep an eye out for Nemo!
Introductory diving is a particular focus on this island with pretty reef formations and plentiful fish making it a first time diver's dream. Start in the shallows and then explore the stunning coral gardens and the fish life surrounding the island on a 'Discover Scuba' intro dive.
There is also plenty to keep certified divers amused, with several beach dives and a purposefully sunk shipwreck. Diving in this area you can encounter drop offs and wall dives with lots of hard corals, crystal clear water & large schools of pelagic fish.
Although the island is uninhabited, you can still get a taste of Fijian culture with a traditional Meke performance and craft market Monday to Saturday.
Full Day Cruise
The South Sea Island Full Day cruise means you'll get to see and do everything this fantastic little island offers! It's small in size but you certainly won't get bored.
Half Day Cruise
The Half Day cruise to South Sea Island is perfect for those who don't have a lot of time to spare, but still want a taste of the 'real Fiji'. This fantastic cruise means you'll get to explore one of Fiji's cutest Mamanuca Islands and get into 'island time'. As the island is only 30 minutes from Denarau, you'll have time to do many of the activities on the island and meet the friendly Fijian's ashore.
Finding Nemo 'Family' Cruise
A fun family day in Fiji! South Sea Island is perfect for families with small children! If you would like to experience a short trip out to South Sea Island to suit the kids, then this is the cruise for you.
In just 30 minutes you'll be at South Sea Island where you can spend one hour and 30 minutes on shore and then be back at Denarau in time for lunch. In the short time on the island, you will still be able to see the stunning underwater world of the Marine Sanctuary that surrounds the island with its colourful coral and magnificent fish life. You don't even have to get wet as we'll take you to view all this in our semi-submersible vessel. You sit beneath the surface viewing the coral and fish through large panoramic windows.
Then spend some time ashore relaxing, go kayaking, take a swim in the pool or go snorkelling before heading back to Port Denarau.
Combo Cruise
A fantastic combination cruise exploring the outer Mamanuca Islands and 3 hours spent ashore at South Sea Island.
On the Island enjoy great snorkelling and water sports or take the semi-submersible ride to see the spectacular coral and fish life. You'll enjoy a tasty barbecue lunch with a cold Fiji beer or other complimentary drinks.
After lunch board South Sea Cruises high speed catamaran for your cruise around the beautiful Mamanuca Islands. You'll see many of the islands including Treasure, Beachcomber, Mana, Castaway, Malolo and Likuliku.
Departures
All cruises depart and return to/from Denarau Marina.

Food and Drink
Lunchtime is a highlight on the island (available on Full, Half and Combo Cruises). Everyone gathers around rustic tables at the open-air restaurant to watch Fijian performances and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with salads, beer, wine and soft drinks. Finding Nemo day trippers will not be on the island for lunch, but complimentary drinks (wine, beer, soft drinks) are included.
Pricing
Prices are per person, include taxes and are in Fijian Dollars. Child age is 5 to 15 inclusive. Infants 4 and under are complimentary but must be advised at the time of booking.
